Syed Amin ul Haque, federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, officially opened the nation’s first digital school on Thursday in Karachi’s Orangi Town neighborhood.
In order to improve communities, Telecom Foundation Education System adopted and renovated the Government Girls’ Secondary School Raees Amrohi to become the first digital school in the nation.
Speaking at the event, the Federal IT Minister stated that the government was pursuing a futuristic vision for the growth and prosperity of Pakistan and that numerous steps, notably in the information technology and communications sectors, were being made in this respect.
In Orangi Town, a less developed and underserved area of Karachi, he claimed that the nation’s first digital school had been established.
There, in addition to receiving a formal education, students would also receive training in market-relevant computer and coding skills, he claimed, allowing them to enter the digital economy and begin making money before finishing their secondary education.
The minister said that the digital school would prove to be yet another key career-building opportunity for female students of Orangi Town while emphasizing his commitment to the development of Orangi Town and the welfare of the region’s population.
He announced that a Virtual University campus was already operational in the region, that Moulvi Abdul Haq School had developed a cutting-edge IT lab, and that CSS coaching classes would start in the upcoming month.
He also vowed that steps would be taken to transform the online school into a graduate-level educational facility.
The minister stated that many initiatives would begin to develop the area and that the federal government has approved Rs. 500 million for the development of Orangi town.
Additionally, he said that he had discussed the idea of extending the BRT Orange Line to Raees Amrohi colony with CM Sindh, who had approved the plan.
Amin ul Haque further stated that the Karachi IT Park project had already begun and that its completion would result in thousands of job opportunities for young people in the city.
