According to a report on Wednesday, the renowned Emirates Airlines is being sued for millions of rupees in damages for offering “substandard service” in a Karachi court.
A Pakistani person who claimed that the airline’s service was appalling and well below international standards filed a Rs. 5 million damages lawsuit in a Karachi consumer court.
On Wednesday, the respondents received notices from the Karachi West consumer court.
Barrister Arsalan, the applicant, claimed that he spent Rs. 229,000 on three return tickets on Emirates Airlines. “I was directed through an e-mail to check in around four hours before the flight and the flight was delayed for over six hours even after the check-in,” he added.
The petitioner further recalled that the airline crew declined to explain why the flight was delayed in the manner described.
The complainant said that after that, workers from Emirates Airlines switched his and his family’s trip plans to budget carrier FlyDubai Airlines, which made a flat reduction in price in order to serve them a nice in-flight meal.
