Sir Viv Richards, a renowned West Indian hitter, has projected the leading wicket-taker and most damaging bowler for the next ODI World Cup 2023 in India. In an interview, the ex-West Indies player claimed that Shaheen Shah Afridi, a famous Pakistani pacer, would take the most wickets in the massive tournament.
Richards, who played 187 ODIs for West Indies, adding that he thinks the left-arm fast bowler has established himself as a prominent bowler thanks to his immense talent and skills.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) was where I spent some time. I’ve watched him develop into a mature, focused person. Richards declared, “He’s my man.”
The Pakistani bowler has many records
Shaheen played in a few games for the Men in Green at the 2019 World Cup in England, and he was in fantastic form in the tournament’s latter stages. Afridi was the youngest bowler to ever take 16 wickets in an ODI World Cup, and he did it in just five matches.
The 23-year-old’s talents, talent, and wicket-taking ability, especially in the opening spell, have made him an indispensable member of the national setup across all three formats.
Shaheen Shah has played in 39 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), accumulating 76 wickets at an average of 23.34 and an economy rate of 5.42, with two separate five-wicket hauls.
