The Ministry of Religious Affairs, Pakistan has temporarily halted the preparation of Hajj flight schedules due to rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerns over potential conflicts involving Iran. Officials emphasized that this is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and smooth travel of pilgrims.
Visa Issuance Continues
Despite the temporary pause on flight schedules, Hajj visa issuance is ongoing. Around two-thirds of pilgrims have already received their visas, and the Ministry continues to process applications for the remaining pilgrims. This ensures that travel documentation remains ready once flight operations are finalized.
Flight Timetable Pending
The final Hajj flight schedule, including flight details, hotel bookings, room allocations, and logistics, is expected to be announced once the regional situation stabilizes. Authorities have assured that pilgrims will receive timely updates through official channels, including the Pak Hajj mobile app and the Ministry’s portal.
Reasons Behind the Suspension
The decision comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, including potential conflict scenarios involving regional powers. Such instability can affect airspace, flight safety, and overall logistics for international travel, prompting the Ministry to adopt a cautious approach.
Guidance for Pilgrims
Pilgrims are advised to stay updated via official sources, avoid making independent travel arrangements, and ensure that all personal documentation, including passports and health records, is in order. The Ministry is committed to resuming flight preparations as soon as safety can be guaranteed.
Precaution, Not Cancellation
Authorities have clarified that this temporary suspension is not a cancellation of Hajj operations. Pakistan remains fully committed to facilitating the pilgrimage for its citizens and will release a final, secure flight plan once the situation permits, prioritizing the safety and comfort of all pilgrims.
