The US Deputy Chief of Mission, Andrew Schofer, was called by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), which was followed by a demarche.
The firm action, according to the details, was made in reaction to a joint declaration from the US and India that urged Pakistan to take tough measures against extremists operating within its borders.
During this visit, it appears that India saw a chance to further its own objectives against Islamabad while looking for backing from its partner on the other side of the water.
Pakistan Reply To US Deputy Chief
The Foreign Office (FO) wasted no time in informing the US Deputy Chief of Mission of Pakistan’s worries and dissatisfaction.
The FO criticized the “unwarranted, one-sided, and misleading references” made regarding the nation in the joint statement in a strongly worded statement.
The FO further advised the US to avoid doing anything that can be interpreted as supporting India’s politically motivated and unfounded narrative against the country.
While hostilities persisted, the FO also emphasized the tremendous advancements made in US-Pakistani counterterrorism collaboration.
The FO emphasized the critical importance of a culture based on trust and understanding in order to maintain this forward momentum.
