An exchange of prisoners agreement is being discussed between Pakistan and the UAE, and a conclusion is anticipated shortly, a top official said on Friday.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, stated on Friday that the country is working to implement the agreement that allows Pakistani inmates serving time in the Arab Emirates to serve a portion of their time in Pakistan.
The Pakistani community has long waited for this, and the ambassador is optimistic that an agreement can be reached shortly.
This occurred during a Friday meeting in the Arab Emirates between the ambassador and members of the Pakistani Journalist Forum, which was presided over by Tahir Munir Tahir.
Three individuals were recently detained and extradited from the Arab Emirates to Pakistan for suspected crimes of kidnapping and sexual assault, according to reports in the Pakistani media.
