Memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on investment cooperation signed by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates on Monday.
Pakistan and UAE Signed Historic Multi-Billion Dollars Investment MoUs
This will enable the two countries to access “multi-billion dollars” in funding from the Middle Eastern nation.
During the former’s week-long trip to the Middle East, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.

Investments Area
In the energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, banking, and financial services sectors, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will open up “multi-billion dollars of investment from the UAE into Pakistan and will help realize various initiatives envisioned under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC)”.
However, the PM termed the signing of MoUs as “a historic event that will usher in a new era of Pak-UAE economic partnership.”

PM Kakar conveyed his sincere gratitude to the UAE for its unwavering financial and economic support of Pakistan during the meeting.
“The UAE is home to 1.8 million Pakistanis, contributing to the progress, prosperity and economic development of the two brotherly countries,” the PMO said.
Meeting Agenda
During the meeting, regional and worldwide developments were also covered, with special attention to the worsening human rights and humanitarian conditions in occupied Palestine.
The prime minister stated that Pakistan supports a fair and long-lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue that is based on international law and compliant with pertinent resolutions from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations.
Furthermore, the PM reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete backing for the United Arab Emirates to serve as host nation for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28).
Moreover, both leaders emphasized that Pakistan and the UAE had “historic and deep-rooted fraternal ties which had stood the test of time” and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing their strategic and economic cooperation.
PM Kakar Kuwait Visit
Furthermore, on November 28–29, PM Kakar will make his next two-day bilateral visit to Kuwait, where he will have meetings with the country’s top leaders.
It’s also anticipated that some Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will sign during the visit.
On December 3, PM Kakar will be in Pakistan.
