Horizon Worlds will be available to Quest 2 VR headset customers in the UK starting today, and a headset upgrade coming this week will make socializing in VR much easier for everyone.
Horizon Worlds is Meta‘s developing metaverse platform, and Quest 2 users in the United Kingdom (aged 18 and up) can now download and play for free. They’ll join the service’s existing users in the United States and Canada.
Horizon Worlds functions as an audio-based chatroom, similar to other virtual reality social spaces such as the popular VR Chat platform. Consider a mix of Reddit and Clubhouse or Discord.
Instead of sitting at your desk, you and your coworkers will be transferred to a faraway destination, such as a snowy mountainside, a sandy island, or a simple treehouse.
If you can’t find the perfect hangout spot, you can always create one.
You may even work with your pals and use community-created items and objects to spice up your virtual reality environment.
Horizon Worlds’ first significant expansion since its introduction is now available in the United Kingdom.
This inflow of new players is expected to help Meta’s metaverse platform grow and thrive, but we’ll have to wait and see how UK players respond.
