Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – 13 June 2025: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance institutional cooperation in human rights across the UAE, the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) conducted an introductory visit to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The visit aimed to foster collaboration between the two entities and establish a framework for improved coordination in human rights and law enforcement.
Delegation and Reception
The NHRI delegation was received by H.E. Major General Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police. The delegation was led by:

Objectives of the Visit
The visit focused on:
- Exploring avenues for collaboration between NHRI and Abu Dhabi Police
- Institutionalizing joint mechanisms to support the national human rights framework, particularly in law enforcement
- Discussing the NHRI’s mandate and responsibilities as an independent entity in promoting human rights awareness
- Strengthening a culture of human dignity and freedoms in alignment with the UAE’s legal and regulatory frameworks
