The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to roll out a ‘Biker Service’ to help people apply for or renew their National Identity Cards. Service users can send in fingerprints, photos, etc., and be mailed a CNIC and other required paperwork.
Authorities say they are almost ready to roll out the successful “Biker Service” in the rest of Pakistan, following its initial success in Islamabad. The service price for applicants would be Rs1,200 in addition to the current CNIC fee.
NADRA is facilitating the public
Applicants can save time and energy by using the “Biker Service” instead of standing in long lines at NADRA facilitation centres. According to reports quoted by a local newspaper, the business will also hire women riders to cater to female applicants.
After filling out an application, “Biker Service” delivers identification cards directly to the applicants’ homes.
NADRA maintains registration centres all around the country, but they also have mobile registration vans (MRVs) that can be placed in convenient areas for people to register for or renew their identification documents.
There is already a “backpack facility” set up by NADRA for the elderly and the disabled.
