Billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday that if Apple (AAPL.O) integrates OpenAI at the OS level, he will ban the company and open up new tab devices.
“That is an unacceptable security violation,” Musk.
Who is the CEO of electric-vehicle maker Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab and rocket maker SpaceX and owner of social media company X.
“And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Apple announced a slew of AI features for its apps and operating systems.
As well as a partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT technology to its devices.
Built AI With Privacy
Apple stated that it built AI with privacy “at the core” and that those features would be powered.
By a combination of on-device processing and cloud computing.
“It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI.
Yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy!” Musk commented on X.
It was not likely that anyone would follow Musk’s lead, according to Ben Bajarin, CEO of consulting firm Creative Strategies.
Who added that Apple was attempting to educate people that private cloud was just as secure as keeping data on device.
