Sony’s top 25 best-selling Games
Seven of the top 25 best-selling games in Sony’s game store are produced by Microsoft-owned studios.
Five of them are from Sony-owned gaming studios, owing primarily to Microsoft’s acquisition of a number of popular third-party studios in recent years.
Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, Sea of Thieves, Fallout 4, Minecraft, Fallout 76, and Grounded are among the titles on the list.
Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 have seen an increase in popularity following the release of the hit TV series on Amazon Prime.
Microsoft purchased Activision
Last year, Microsoft purchased Activision-Blizzard for more than $70 billion. The software developer gained control of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and several other billion-dollar franchises.
It also owns Minecraft, which is still one of, if not the, most popular games in the world; another big name under its umbrella is DOOM.
Mobile and PC gaming are putting pressure on console margins, which has prompted them to reconsider. South Asian countries, such as India and Pakistan, feel like home for mobile gaming, with the player base growing by the day.
In terms of the future of gaming, it is possible that PlayStation games will run on Xbox console hardware through Steam.
