According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the new social media platform Threads has reached a remarkable milestone by surpassing 70 million sign-ups in just three days.

The app quickly grew in popularity, becoming the fastest to reach 10 million users, accomplishing this feat within hours of its release.
Threads is on its way to joining the exclusive 100 million user club, as it meets the growing demand for a Twitter alternative. Zuckerberg expressed his surprise at the platform’s rapid growth, emphasizing user interest and enthusiasm.
Meta was initially available in 100 countries (excluding the EU) for Android and iPhone users, and it is gradually expanding access to non-mobile devices.
Desktop browsers can now view Thread posts and profiles, but desktop login and sign-up are not yet supported.
Meta intends to add new features and is working on implementing a chronological timeline similar to that of other social media platforms such as Twitter.
The rapid growth of Threads poses a challenge to Twitter, which is competing with other platforms to attract dissatisfied users.
Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino believes Twitter is unique and cannot be replicated, but the company is actively responding to the Threads threat.
Twitter accused Meta of creating a “copycat” product and threatened to sue in a lawyer’s letter posted by Semafor, alleging that Meta hired former Twitter employees to develop it. Meta, on the other hand, has denied these allegations.
