To improve the abilities of promising young talent in India, Mercedes-Benz has included an electric vehicle (EV) element in its Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) course.
Due to its three-year partnership with the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS Women’s College) in Pune, Maharashtra, it has developed the first EV program.
According to an official release, the curriculum will be taught over the course of a year in order to generate a crop of “EV-industry ready” workers. In addition, in 2022, the program will be implemented at two more institutes before being rolled out across India.
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India stated, “Electric is the future and it is imperative that we drive ahead with upskilling and reskilling initiatives for our talent pool, making them industry-ready and create a robust e-mobility ecosystem.
With the introduction of the EV module, we are addressing this specific requirement and will help create a pool of young talents, who will be instrumental in supporting the transition to e-mobility.”
The training has been broken into discrete sections, according to the business, to provide insights into various facets of EV development. Students will also gain real-world experience of the EV development process by participating in it, according to the statement.
This plan is clearly geared at establishing India Mercedes-Asian Benz’s center for right-hand drive EV markets, and it will also boost India’s EV market. It will, however, be available in additional nations if necessary.
