A genealogy dating back to the record-breaking XK120 will come to an end with the Jaguar F-Type at the end of next year, marking the culmination of 75 years of Jaguar sports cars powered only by internal combustion.
The ultimate version of the F-Type will go on sale in early 2023 to commemorate the illustrious 75-year history of Jaguar sports vehicles. Customers will have the option of purchasing either the F-Type 75 or the F-Type R 75 special editions of the penultimate Jaguar F-Type before the illustrious brand begins to move toward complete electrification in the middle of this decade.
The last F-Type will have a vintage supercharged 5.0L V8, as opposed to the turbo-four or supercharged V6 that was previously offered. The F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 both feature new supercharged V8 engines that produce 444 horsepower and 580 pound-feet of torque, respectively.
Both vehicles also feature an 8-speed quick-shift transmission with full manual control via the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters or the sport shift gear selector.
The F-Type R is reported to have a 0-100 km/h time of under 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h, however the final Jaguar F-Type 75 is believed to have a 0-100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 285 km/h.
Both the coupe and convertible editions of the Jaguar F-Type maintain their original powerful external styling. Giola Green Metallic is a special paint option, and all versions include 20-inch wheels with gloss black 5-spoke and gloss black diamond-turned 10-spoke designs as standard. Discreet emblems that represent the F-distinctive Type’s shape are also present on the front fenders of the last Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75, as well as on the wheel centres and grille.
