Dr. Umar Saif, Caretaker Federal IT Minister, presided over a meeting to finalize a plan with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to improve the quality of computer science students in universities and their subsequent placement in the IT industry.

Furthermore, in the meeting with IT Minister, they decided that in the final semester, HEC, P@SHA, PSEB, and the National Computing Education Accreditation Council will conduct a standardized test for quality assessment and placement of IT students.
Pakistan’s IT industry is facing a shortage of qualified IT graduates.

PSEB Role
Moreover, PSEB will compile information on students who take and pass the test. In the final semester, an industry co-op program will be established.
However, students can earn 6-9 credit units for working in the industry and gaining practical experience before graduating.
P@SHA Role
Moreover, P@SHA will collaborate with the industry to ensure that students who pass the test are placed in IT companies and have subsequent job opportunities.
Furthermore, HEC Executive Director Dr. Ziaul Qayyum, Member IT Syed Junaid Imam, CEO Ignite Asim Shahryar Husain, and others attended the meeting.
