Muhammad Zohaib Khan, the former chairman of Pakistan’s IT industry association P@SHA, has been recognized as the Pride of Pakistan for his services to the country’s IT industry. His announcement was made on the eve of the 78th Independence Day Celebrations at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad.
Muhammad Zohaib Khan was the only P@SHA Chairman and one of a few businessmen from the IT industry who were given this recognition. He has been associated with the IT industry for over two decades and has represented Pakistan at various global platforms in different capacities, receiving numerous titles for his dedication and service to the nation.
Key Achievements as P@SHA Chairman
During his tenure as chairman, Pakistan achieved the highest-ever IT export earnings of over $3.2 billion in FY24. Under his leadership, the country hosted the APICTA Awards for the first time in 2023, bringing regional economies together. He played a pivotal role in securing:
- IT export awards
- Tax incentives at the federal and provincial levels
- 50% retention of foreign exchange facilities in bank accounts
- Formation of Tech Destination Pakistan in collaboration with policymakers and a private bank
- Revamping of P@SHA’s secretariat and R&D unit
Zohaib also facilitated the expansion of Pakistani IT companies into international markets, including the GCC and Europe.
Current Role in SIFC & Tech Destination Pakistan
Currently, he is actively contributing to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), aiming to boost IT exports to $10 billion in the coming years. Additionally, he has served as the brand ambassador for Tech Destination Pakistan since its inception.
