Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, pledged full support on Thursday in helping the IT industry address its worries and cited the industry’s agreements with the prime minister to quickly increase IT exports as evidence.
The finance minister and the minister for information technology and telecommunication (MoITT), Syed Amin Ul Haque, co-chaired the steering committee meeting that was conducted at the finance division.
Discussion on IT exports
The discussion looked at how well the prime minister’s directives to boost IT exports have gone since the meeting on January 5.
Representatives of the IT sector spoke with the finance minister about the difficulties they experience in conducting business and the costs associated with doing so and offered solutions for pressing problems.
The finance minister’s efforts and assistance were welcomed by the IT minister, who also pledged the full support of his ministry and expressed confidence in the IT sector’s ability to increase exports.
VC Hazara University, PSEB MD Junaid Iman, P@SHA Chairman Zohaib Khan, SAPM on Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khwaja, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad, Secretary IT, Secretary Finance, Chairman SECP, Contour Pvt. CEO Bilal Mahmood and leading IT exporters, along with senior FBR and Finance Division officers, all attended the meeting.
