With the iPhone 14 launch event rapidly approaching, rumors are becoming more concise, and the most recent one comes from reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to reports, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will include new ultra wide camera sensors capable of capturing 1.4m pixels.
As a result, shots should be more detailed and have better low-light performance. For comparison, the current iPhone 13 Pro duo’s ultra wide cameras capture 1.0m pixels.
A new voice coil motor (VCM) and a new compact camera module will accompany the new CMOS imaging sensor. All of these components will cost up to 70% more than those found in the current iPhone 13 Pro models.
Kuo believes Sony will supply the CMOS sensors, with Minebea and Largan handling the VCM. LG is widely regarded as the leading supplier of compact camera modules.
Along with the new ultrawide module, the iPhone 14 Pro series is expected to include a 48MP primary camera with 4-in-1 pixel binning. The resulting images should have better color accuracy and low-light performance.
The front cameras on both 14 Pro models will get a significant upgrade, including autofocus and a bright f/1.9 aperture.
