KL Rahul, a key member of the Indian cricket squad, will miss the tournament’s opening two games due to a minor fitness concern. At a press conference, Rahul Dravid, the team’s head coach, stated that the right-handed batter would be unavailable for the first two games, which would be played against Pakistan and Nepal.
The 31-year-old opening batter has been out of action since May due to a thigh injury, but he has now recovered and been chosen to play in the Asia Cup. While recovering from his injuries at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), he experienced a new fitness problem.
Indian star will not join
We’ve had a terrific week with KL Rahul—he’s been playing well and making great strides—but he won’t be able to join us in Kandy until later in the trip, as Dravid explained. Dravid continued by saying that the NCA will be in charge of his care for the next several days and that he hoped he would be made available shortly.
The two group stage matches on September 2 and 4 in Sri Lanka may count on Ishan Kishan to keep wickets for his team. According to reports, Sanju Samson, another wicket-keeper alternative, will travel with India’s main squad as a backup for the prestigious competition.
