On Wednesday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi officially presented Babar Azam, the nation’s all-format captain, with his ICC Awards.
Babar Azam Accomplishments
The honors comprised the Sir Garfield Sobers Best Cricketer of the Year award, the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year cap, and the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year cap. They were given in recognition of Babar’s great accomplishments in 2022.
Najam Sethi showed his admiration for the cricket player and gave him high accolades for his dependable performances, which have helped the nation gain international reputation.
In addition, Najam Sethi wished the captain luck for the upcoming season and expressed confidence in his ability to guide the side to victory at the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Soon after the ceremony, PCB posted pictures of Babar Azam getting prizes and caps from Najam Sethi in Lahore on its official Twitter account.

On its official social media channels, the International Cricket Council also shared pictures of Babar Azam holding both trophies and caps.
The 28-year-old cricketer’s exceptional performance in three different forms in 2022 was also acknowledged by the cricket governing body.

It is important to note that the cricketer, who was born in Lahore, is the first Pakistani to have won the ODI Cricketer of the Year award twice.
In the calendar year 2022, Babar Azam scored the most runs across all formats with 2,598 runs in 52 innings at an average of 54.12, including 17 fifties and 8 hundreds.
