Karachi is currently experiencing hot and humid conditions, with temperatures ranging between 33-34°C. However, due to high humidity levels, the “feels like” temperature has surged to 40-41°C, making the weather extremely uncomfortable for residents.
Sea Breezes Bring Some Relief
Sea breezes are blowing across the city, providing slight relief by cooling the air and reducing the perceived temperature. While the heat remains intense, these breezes help mitigate the harshness of the weather.
No Heat Wave Alert, But Precautions Advised
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has confirmed that there is no immediate threat of a heat wave in Karachi. However, they have urged citizens to take precautions, including:
- Minimizing sun exposure between 11 AM and 4 PM
- Drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration
- Wearing loose, light-colored clothing to stay cool
Stay Safe in the Heat
While Karachi may escape a full-blown heat wave for now, the combination of heat and humidity remains a health risk. Residents are advised to stay vigilant and follow PMD guidelines to stay safe during the hot spell.
