In the first three quarters of 2022, Habib Metro Bank posted its highest-ever profit of more than Rs. 10 billion. The bank’s profit increased significantly from Rs. 9.90 billion recorded in a comparable period of the previous calendar year to Rs. 10.25 billion during the period of January to September 2022, according to the financial statement, demonstrating a small gain of 3.3 percent on a yearly basis.
One of the top ten most profitable banks in Pakistan is Habib Metro Bank. Its profit during the aforementioned time was fairly comparable to that of its rival Askari Bank, which posted a profit of Rs. 10.7 billion during the same period.
The interest income, which increased to Rs. 27 billion in the first three quarters of 2022 from Rs. 21.4 billion in the same time the previous financial year, was the key factor in the profit growth.
The bank’s non-markup income increased as well, from Rs. 7.9 billion last year to Rs. 10.5 billion this year. The bank’s overall expenditures increased significantly from the same time last year, when they were recorded at Rs. 12.1 billion, to Rs. 16.2 billion this year.
Earnings per share for the bank increased marginally to Rs. 9.79 from Rs. 9.45. In the release of financial data for the third quarter, there was no mention of dividends for shareholders.
