Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, announced the Inaugurate Islamabad IT Park on August 14. Karachi IT Park will follow soon after. The announcement was made during her address at the Islamabad Business Summit. The government is repurposing vacant buildings for IT parks and establishing 250 employment facilitation centers nationwide to support industrial growth.

High Returns on Tech Investments
Shaza Fatima revealed that Pakistan earns 49 for every dollar spent on marketing. Despite the budget constraints, the Government aims to increase the number of tech experts to 25 billion. A Digital Foreign Investment Summit, co-organized with Saudi Arabia, will be held on April 28-29. This event aims to attract global investors and strengthen Pakistan’s position in the international tech market.

Smart Islamabad Initiative
A pilot project for “Smart Islamabad” is underway, featuring a Super App for streamlined public services. The app will provide online access to business permits and registrations. Inspired by Shenzhen, China, a business facilitation center will be established in Islamabad. All relevant offices will operate under one roof, simplifying processes for entrepreneurs and investors.
