Google has started its first-ever App Growth Lab in Pakistan, a four-month programme aimed at identifying high-potential app developers, studios, and businesses aiming to expand their operations.
The initiative will allow app developers to learn from Google professionals in areas such as Ads, AdMob, Firebase, gTech, and Play, as well as industry leaders, through intense education and support phases.

In a statement, Farhan Qureshi – Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka – said:
“Today, we are proud to announce the launch of App Growth Lab to support up-and-coming local developers and help them expand their offerings to an international audience.
The initiative will begin in June and will last four months. Interested enterprises, app development studios, and organisations may apply until May 22, 2023.
The App Growth Lab programme is built around four core pillars: uncovering the global app and gaming opportunity to understand different levers to set a company’s overall strategy.
Bringing a user-centric mindset to app and game product development and leveraging best-in-class technology to set an app up for long-term success.
Uncovering strategies to win the launch, setting up monetisation models, and maximising Google’s data tools to achieve measurable growth; and acquiring knowledge.
The curriculum builds on the success of last year’s Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan.
Google stated that the scheme demonstrates its commitment to helping Pakistan’s app business thrive both locally and worldwide.
The Gaming Growth Lab, a virtual five-week initiative, was created to assist budding mobile-gaming entrepreneurs in expanding their offers and growing their businesses.
Google, the largest search engine and video-sharing platform in the world, is planning to construct a liaison office in Pakistan, although Twitter and Facebook have stated they are unable to open offices there in the near future.
The global juggernaut has already registered itself as a corporation in Pakistan, according to an announcement made on Friday by IT and Telecom Minister Syed Amin-Ul-Haque.
“A delegation of Google is scheduled to come to Pakistan early next week from Singapore and the company will likely announce the establishment of a functional office here,” the IT Minister told the local Newspaper agency. He also revealed TikTok’s agreement to open a liaison office in Pakistan.
