Following Twitter’s renaming to ‘X,’ Elon Musk has proclaimed that the platform will only be available in ‘dark mode,’ thereby depriving everyone of the ability to choose between alternative appearances. Musk made the announcement in a post on X on Thursday morning.

Earlier this week, the billionaire asked his followers if the platform’s default hue should be changed to black. The shift to a black theme was supported by 78.4% of the approximately 1.8 million respondents.

‘Dark mode,’ also known as ‘night mode’ on some devices, is a screen setting that reduces the amount of white light generated by a device, displaying gray or white text on a black background.
It is intended to be used in the evening or with low lighting in general since it makes the screen easier to see in darker circumstances.
Twitter’s newly rebranded ‘X’ has traditionally had a white theme as its default setting. It officially added a dark mode option in 2016, and it now offers two separate forms of this: ‘dim’ and ‘lights out’. ‘Dim’ shows the platform in dark blue tones, whereas ‘lights off’ shows it in black tones.
Musk’s decision to change the platform’s default display without providing alternatives emphasizes his latest effort to turn Twitter, now known as ‘X,’ into his vision. The entrepreneur has stated that his “everything app” will include the social networking platform.
This all-in-one service will include social media, financial transactions, banking, messaging, and other features, similar to the Chinese app WeChat.
