One of the largest retailers in the Czech Republic, Albert, an Ahold Delhaize brand store, claims that its fleet of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) has cleaned more than 215 million square feet. Learn the specifics.
In the Czech Republic, Albert, an Ahold Delhaize brand and one of the largest retailers, has used a fleet of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to clean over 20 million square meters (215 million square feet) across its hypermarkets and two distribution centers. The fleet has completed over 92,000 cleaning routes.
Brain Corp. and Tennant Co. collaborated to produce these robots. In 2023, Albert plans to nearly double the number of retail locations where robots are installed.
The stores are expanding cleaning robots fleet
We plan to further expand our use of autonomous scrubbers this year after deploying several of them last year. The total number of robots working in our stores will nearly double by the end of March,” declared Pavel Klemera, operations support manager at Albert. When it comes to cleaning, “robots clean precisely, don’t skip any space, and help our employees to save their effort so, they can use the time to elevate our customer’s experience.”
Albert has fully automated the task of cleaning floors throughout its stores by deploying its fleet of BrainOS-powered Tennant T380AMR and T7AMR autonomous scrubbers in the second half of 2022. Tennant’s hardware and Brain Corp’s AI automation platform, BrainOS, combine to make for autonomous robots that can clean while navigating in highly dynamic public retail spaces and provide a suite of fleet management tools. Among these is BrainOS Mobile, which aids retail supervisors in monitoring machine performance and keeping production on track.
According to Brain Corp.’s chief revenue officer Michel Spruijt, “with the current speed of evolution within the industry, the smartest retailers are increasingly acting like technology companies.” The Albert team has shown they are technologically savvy and forward-thinking by deploying AMRs across the country. This will help them support their employees now and in the future and ensure the longevity of their retail operations.
