The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been working hard to complete the LOPs for four residential sectors in advance of the launch of four new residential schemes.
Sources say that D-13, E-13, F-13, and the housing scheme in Kuri are among the areas benefiting from a thorough topographic survey and subsequent development.
Waseem Hayat Bajwa, a CDA member responsible for planning, has acknowledged that preparations are underway to finalise LOPs for these industries.
He elaborated by saying that even though LOPs had been made for similar areas before, they were missing crucial topographic surveys.
Bajwa informed the public that within a month, the authority would appoint a consultant to help finalise the LOP for the Kuri housing plan.
More than 25,000 acres are spread among these four regions, he said.
Bajwa noted that the CDA had purchased 20,000 kanal of land in Kuri that had been abandoned for decades while discussing the Kuri housing project.
Sector C-13 in Islamabad is the site of a CDA anti-encroachment operation, which can be read about here.
However, a disagreement existed between villagers and the authority about 8,000 kanal of the land.
The municipal agency plans on preparing the LOP for the remaining 12,000 kanal, omitting the contested territory, in an effort to circumvent this obstacle.
CDA is acquiring more land
CDA officials have said that addressing land concerns is a prerequisite to building the four residential sectors.
The entire project covers 3,200 acres, divided evenly among sectors of 750 acres each.
Part of the property for the Park Enclave development has been taken into CDA custody, while a large amount is still considered to be in “adverse possession.”
In 2008, the authority acquired the aforementioned D-13, E-13, and F-13 sectors, with partial allotments made in D-13 and E-13.
The CDA’s current chairman has also ordered the agency to address the outstanding problems that have slowed progress in these areas.
Despite the fact that previous promises have fallen through, officials are certain that the completion of LOPs for all four sectors will finally allow work to begin.
