Babar Azam, the all-format captain, reached another milestone in the ninth match of the current eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Peshawar Zalmi captain and right-handed batsman became the first player in PSL history to achieve the 2,500-run mark.

In their third match of the season against the Quetta Gladiators in Karachi, Babar Azam scored 19 runs off 18 balls, including three boundaries.
At an average of 41.81 runs per PSL inning and a strike rate of 121.56, the 28-year-old batter has now scored 2,509 runs, including 24 half-centuries.
With 2,033 PSL runs, Shoaib Malik is second on the list, and Fakhar Zaman is third with 2,020 runs.
Jimmy Neesham’s all-around effort helped the Babar Azam-led team defeat the Gladiators by four wickets, moving them up to second place in the PSL standings.
On February 23, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will square off in their fourth match at Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena.
