Pakistan’s most famous javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, returned home to a hero’s welcome after winning silver in Budapest, Hungary. A video of admirers greeting the outstanding athlete at the airport has gone viral on numerous social media platforms because of the pride he has brought to the country.
This week, the 25-year-old finished in second place in the World Athletics Championship, which took place in Hungary. With a best throw of 87.82 metres on his third attempt, Arshad won silver, finishing second only to Neeraj Chopra of India.

Arshad Nadeem thanked the crowd for the enthusiastic response and told the press that he could have won a gold medal if better facilities had been available.
“If provided with international-standard facilities and support, I am confident I can convert this silver medal into gold,” Arshad Nadeem said.
The President of the Pakistan Athletes Federation, Akram Sahi, was quite pleased with the performance and made a confident statement about the sport’s bright future.
