According to reports, the SMS through satellite capability on mobile phones will soon be supported by Android 14, which will be a big development for mobile communication technology.
Users should soon have access to satellite SMS compatibility with Android 14, according to a tweet from the Pixel #TeamPixel Twitter account, according to Phone Arena.
Once the upgrade is available, users will be able to use their devices to send and receive SMS messages even in areas with spotty or nonexistent cellular coverage.

In addition, the tweet noted that the Galaxy and Pixel smartphones will be among the first Android versions to have the hardware necessary to facilitate SMS delivery via satellite.
“SMS Satellite will be added to Android, and requires appropriate hardware, it’s up to the manufacturer then Pixel and Galaxy will be among the first to have it,” Pixel #TeamPixel said.
There are roughly two to three weeks left until the debut of Android 14’s final, stable version, which is rapidly approaching.
The extent of smartphone satellite support is still unknown, though. The Emergency SOS via satellite feature is already supported by Apple.
Users of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro can text emergency services when they are outside the range of cellular and Wi-Fi networks using Emergency SOS via satellite.
By helping to rescue those who were stuck in far-off places, the feature has demonstrated its ability to save lives.
Two victims of a terrible vehicle accident in the US were saved thanks to the Emergency SOS through satellite capability.
The incident reportedly happened on the Angeles Forest Highway in the Angeles National Forest in the US state of California, sending a car careening over the edge of a mountain and plummeting about 300 feet into a secluded ravine.
Because there was no cellular coverage, an iPhone 14 in the car detected the collision and used Emergency SOS to send the information to rescuers through satellite.
