FIFA has set the highest official ticket prices ever for the 2026 World Cup final, with top seats now costing around $10,990. The final will take place on July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
Dynamic Pricing Drives Costs Up
This latest sales phase uses a dynamic pricing system, where prices change based on demand. Category 1 tickets for the final have reached $10,990, up from about $8,680 in earlier sales. FIFA says this pricing reflects market demand across all matches.
Comparison to Previous Tournaments
The 2026 final ticket is dramatically higher than in previous tournaments. At the 2022 World Cup final, the most expensive official ticket was around $1,600, making the 2026 top tier ticket almost seven times more expensive.
Price Increases Across Other Categories
Not only premium seats, but Category 2 and 3 tickets have also risen significantly. Category 2 tickets now cost around $7,380 and Category 3 tickets about $5,785, making the overall attendance cost much higher for fans.
Fan Concerns Over Accessibility
The steep prices have drawn criticism, as many fans worry that attending the event may become unaffordable for average supporters. There have also been complaints about technical issues during ticket releases, adding to fan frustration.
Impact of the Resale Market
Official resale platforms have listed some tickets even higher than face value, reflecting strong demand. While FIFA does not control these prices, the resale market adds to concerns about the tournament becoming too expensive for general fans.
