The current month’s second fortnight’s fuel prices won’t change, according to Tuesday’s announcement from Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
The administration agreed not to alter the present rates of petroleum goods for the ensuing 15 days, according to Dar, who announced the decision at a news conference.
Accordingly, the price of high-speed diesel, petrol, kerosene oil, and light diesel had all remained constant at Rs. 235.30, Rs. 224.80, Rs. 191.83 per liter, and Rs. 186.50, respectively.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) can be substituted with gasoline, particularly in Punjab. Typically, high-speed diesel is employed in the transportation and agricultural industries.
Therefore, any change in its price will directly affect the buyers.
In the northern regions where liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is not available, kerosene oil is utilized for cooking. Additionally, the Pakistani Army used kerosene oil in the nation’s northern regions.
Petroleum products have historically been a simple way for the government to make money.
Currently, the government charges a petroleum levy (PL) of Rs. 50 per liter on gasoline and Rs. 50 per liter on high-octane blending materials (HOBC).
The price of petroleum goods was predicted to go up by Rs. 3 to Rs. 4 per liter by the government.
