Meta appears to be in a rut when it comes to introducing new WhatsApp features. The firm has recently released a slew of new features, including HD video and photo sharing, Chat lock, quick video messages, and more. A new feature of this list is the ability to give a group an alias.
Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s CEO, announced the new feature on the WhatsApp blog: “Making it simpler to start WhatsApp groups by naming them based on who’s in the chat when you don’t feel like coming up with another name.”
Have you ever wanted to know how to have WhatsApp automatically name the groups? Let me show you the ropes.
Learn the ins and outs of automatic group naming
- Group names generated by this function are not particularly creative or original.
- The name of the user who is part of the group is all that is needed.
- Users are now able to form groups without first giving them a name.
- The names of these sets change throughout time. This means that everyone in the group will hear a slightly different name.
- Supports a maximum of 6 people.
How to have WhatsApp suggest a group name
Smoothly assign a group name with WhatsApp. Simply adding people to a group will cause the group to be given the name of one of the added members. If a group consists of five members, for instance, WhatsApp will adopt those individuals’ names. Designed with confidentiality in mind, the group’s name will vary from one user’s contact list to the next. If you are added to a group where some members do not already have your contact information, your phone number will be displayed in the group’s name.
- Launch the WhatsApp mobile application.
- To create a new group, click the plus sign (‘+’) in the lower right corner.
- You can form a group with up to six people you choose.
- That’s it, WhatsApp will give the group a name based on the names of the people in it.
