During the months of April and June 2021, Pakistan had the second-highest amount of videos deleted from the TikTok platform due to Community Guidelines violations, with 9.85 million videos removed.
In its worldwide Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which was published on Thursday by the top short-form video platform in the world, it was noted that 81.51 million videos were taken down internationally between April and June.
However, this percentage represented less than 1% of all uploaded content.
The United States was the country with the most videos deleted (11.43 million), followed by Pakistan. Brazil is in third place with 7.48 million deleted videos.
While 20.9 percent of the content was tied to criminal activity, the marketing or trafficking of narcotics, cigarettes, alcohol, and other restricted substances, 41.3 percent of the content that was deleted did so in violation of TikTok’s minor safety policy.
According to the site, pornography, sexually explicit material, and nudity are not permitted on TikTok. Of the total videos taken down, 14% broke this rule, and 6.8% of them dealt with bullying, shaming, or harassment.
According to the platform, 93% of the films that were removed were taken down within 24 hours of being posted, and 94% of them were taken down before being reported by a user. Additionally, 87.5 percent of all the movies that were taken down had no views.
According to TikTok, the automated approach to finding, deleting, and prohibiting fake accounts and interactions had improved the platform’s ability to react quickly to new threats.
