How to share whatsapp messages with qr code in 7 simple step

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of WhatsApp parent firm Meta, recently unveiled a faster and “more private” method of transferring WhatsApp chat data between two devices. For the first time, this update will let users save their entire conversation and media library without ever having to leave the app.

WhatsApp currently supports transferring messages and contacts between several mobile platforms. The new QR-based solution, on the other hand, is only compatible with devices running the same OS.

Why this approach is superior

When switching between iOS and Android devices, WhatsApp users were required to back up their data in the cloud before making the switch. The new solution does away with the requirement for cloud-based chat backups. Regular backups of user data are strongly recommended.

The new system for transferring conversations merely takes scanning a QR code. Large media files and attachments can be sent without the need for a backup and restoration with this method.

The business claims that this new feature “is faster than backing up and restoring your chat history and now you can also transfer large media files and attachments, which were usually too large to keep.”

The QR Code Conversation Transfer Method for WhatsApp

To use the new way of transferring chat history, both devices must be turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  1. First, the user must launch WhatsApp on the target device they wish to sync their chats from.
  2. Navigate to the Chats section of the Settings menu, and then select Chat Transfer.
  3. The old phone’s QR code will be displayed and the user will be invited to scan it.
  4. Users will be invited to accept the transfer after the scanning process has finished.
  5. Select Accept to begin the transfer.
  6. Remember that you have to wait on the transfer screen until it’s done.

Safety and confidentiality

More secure than using unapproved third-party apps without established privacy rules, and more private than cloud services, so claims WhatsApp of its new approach. In addition, a QR code is used for authentication, the data is encrypted in full, and only two devices are involved in the transfer.
