Meta has launched an updated version of the WhatsApp macOS programme. The modernised app now has many enhancements and conforms visually to the operating system’s aesthetic. There has been a significant change between the web.whatsapp.com app and the latest Mac version of WhatsApp.
The new app has many benefits, the most notable of which being the ability to conduct and receive group conversations (both audio and video) on a Mac, which was previously unavailable. If you’re using a Mac and want to know how to start a group video or voice conversation using WhatsApp, here are the steps you need to take:
- It’s time for a WhatsApp update.
- First, uninstall the previous version of WhatsApp from your device. Follow that up by going to
- WhatsApp.com/download. After selecting “Mac,” click the Download button.
- Double-clicking the WhatsApp application file, then dragging the WhatsApp icon into the Applications folder, will install WhatsApp on your Mac.
- After installing the app, go to its settings and enable the Linked Devices feature by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen.
- Now that WhatsApp is set up and operating, you can initiate voice and video calls with many people at once.
- Participate in conference calls by picking participants by name.
- Select the Call option from the sidebar.
- Then, pick New group call from the menu that appears when you tap the New call button.
- You can choose up to 8 video connections and 32 audio contacts.
- To make a call, choose Audio or Video at the pop-up window’s bottom.
Hold conference calls inside your WhatsApp group
WhatsApp calls can also be made from within preexisting groups. To start a call with people who are already members of a group, you should go to that group’s page and click the New Call button. To initiate a group call, choose the participants and then click the Video or Call icon.
Make a link
The latest Mac version of WhatsApp also has the call connect feature. Select the Calls menu item on the left sidebar, and then select Create Call Link. Then, send that link to the folks in your group chat that you’d like to talk to.
