While the world continues to adapt to Wi-Fi 6 and 6E standards, ZTE has released an even faster internet solution, the MC888 Flagship, which is a Wi-Fi 7 5G Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
These devices receive data such as 4G LTE/5G and convert it into Wi-Fi signals that consumers can connect to. CPEs are widely used as a cost-effective alternative to installing fibre optic cables in hospitals, factories, and villages.
This new ZTE MC888 flagship supports global sub6 and mmWave frequency bands, as well as ZTE’s smart antenna X technology.
It has an LED screen on the router and top-of-the-line antenna gain of up to 10dBi.
Fastest Wi-Fi Device Yet
The newly released MC888 Flagship currently holds the record for being the world’s fastest Wi-Fi 7 solution, with support for the 2.4GHz/5GHz/6Hz frequency bands.
If all three bands are used to their full potential, it can deliver speeds of up to 19GBps. Other features of this new tech bag include a 320MHz bandwidth, multi-link operation (MLO), and 4K QAM, which allow 256 users to connect to the Wi-Fi network at extremely fast and stable speeds.
Wi-Fi 7 also provides improved signal coverage, allowing more users to connect to the network at the same time.
ZTE stated that the MC888 Flagship is based on a futuristic outer-space rocket design, with the goal of improving the router’s immersive experience.
The top metal decorative ring is inspired by rocket thrusters, while the three sets of color-changing LED strips on the router’s edges, when combined with the futuristic UI interface of the router’s circular touch screen, give users the impression that they are using next-gen internet with industry-leading convenience.
Launch and Availability
Meanwhile, the MC888 Flagship has the world’s fastest 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, which provides a reliable 10 Gigabit connection for computers, Smart TVs, 8K video streaming, and other devices.
According to the company’s official statements, the Wi-Fi 7 MC888 Flagship will be available in consumer markets by the end of 2022, with a hefty price tag to match, given that this is a first generation Wi-Fi 7 product.
