The federal Cabinet decided to put off a per unit increase in power tariff

On Tuesday, the Federal Cabinet made the decision to delay the basic power pricing hike of Rs. 7.99 per unit.

The increase was put up for ratification as part of the agenda for the cabinet meeting by the Economic Coordination Committee, but it was rejected.

In order to strengthen the government’s financial situation and advance the nation’s Islamic banking sector, the cabinet also authorized the issuing of Sukuk bonds.

Ahsan Iqbal, the minister for planning, development, and special initiatives said at a press conference following the cabinet meeting that was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the Finance Division’s website would soon have information about the assets and other specifics of the Sukuk bonds.

Alongside him was the PM’s advisor on Kashmir affairs, Qamar Zaman Kaira, who claimed that the cabinet had also discussed the issue of the lack of edible oil in the nation and had praised the efforts of the industries minister and his team for arranging for a ship carrying the commodity to leave Indonesia for Pakistan.

He claimed that the industries minister, who traveled to Indonesia and spoke with the president about it, was congratulated and praised by the prime minister, who also expressed gratitude to the President of Indonesia.
