Miftah Ismail, the Minister of Finance, has stated that the government will develop a new program to examine petrol pricing.
He added that the government will only subsidize petrol for motorbike riders, not the “upper class” who drive large vehicles.
Miftah informed the press that the coalition government’s administration system will be improved in the coming months.
According to him, the new government will endeavor to relieve the economic strain as quickly as feasible, as per Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s directions.
According to Miftah, the present administration will collect more taxes than the previous administration without levying any new taxes.
The previous government had put the people under a great deal of stress, which the current government is working to alleviate as soon as possible, he continued.
Miftah also emphasized that the government will not be raising petrol prices right away. Despite the fact that numerous petrol stations have huge lines of trucks due to a supposed diesel scarcity.
According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), such reports are untrue, meaning that some gas stations are intentionally depleting the market.
In response to a query, the finance minister stated that the main causes of inflation in the country were the depreciation of the rupee and the PTI government’s wrongdoings.
