The Sindh government has proclaimed a public holiday on May 1st (Wednesday) to commemorate Labour Day.

The vacation will apply to all government offices, autonomous entities.

Semi-autonomous bodies, companies, and local councils administered by the Sindh government, with the exception of essential services.

The federal and provincial administrations of Balochistan and KP are also anticipated to declare a public holiday on May 1.

It is important to note that Labour Day, also known as May Day, was declared a national holiday in Pakistan in 1972. Pakistan has been an International Labour Organisation (ILO) member since its independence in 1947.
