Pakistan has reported nine cases of the JN.1 COVID-19 variant. According to details, nine cases of the JN.1 variant of Covid-19 were reported in Peshawar hospitals, prompting the health department to issue an advisory.
The director of public health stated that hospitals have been advised to expedite COVID-19 tests in influenza-like diseases.
The health official also stated that hospitals have been instructed to send samples for JN.1 virus testing to the Public Health Reference Lab.
They stated that more testing was necessary to determine the actual number of cases. They advised people to start following Covid-19 SOPs, such as frequent hand-washing with soap, especially after visiting public places, and wearing facemasks.
