According to the most recent estimates, during the fiscal year 2021–2022, $2,615.815 million was made by providing various information technology (IT) services in various nations.
A significant surge in IT export has been seen over the past year. According to a study by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), earnings have increased by 24.10% from $2,107.800 million to $2615 million compared to the fiscal year 2020–21.
Computer services exports increased by 26.40% from $1,666.310 million to $2,106.145 million this year.
Software consulting exports had an increase of 43.43%, going from $554.612 million to $795.480 million. However, from $0.551 million to $2.918 million, the exports of hardware consulting services increased by 429.58 percent.
However, the export and import of services connected to computer software grew by 34.87%, from $417.485 million to $563.071 million. However, services for repairs and maintenance increased from $0.662 million to $1.446 million.
The exports of other computer services also increased, rising 7.25 percent, from $693 million to $743.230 million. While the export of IT services increased from $3.990 million to $5.230 million, a 31.08% increase.
The exports of news agency services also increased, going from $2.304 million to $3.448 million, by 49.65%. The exports of other information services increased by 5.69% to $3.448 million from $2.304 million.
When it comes to telecommunication services, it has also seen growth, going from $437.500 million to $504.440 million over the course of the year, a 15.30% gain. The call center services, on the other hand, had a 39.43% growth, from $154.554 million to $215.501 million.
Additionally, throughout the time, other telecommunications services had a 2.12% increase from $282.946 million to $288.939 million.
Overall, Pakistan’s export of IT services has grown significantly during the past several years.
