According to sources, the PEDO built the hydropower plant, which generates 81 megawatts of cheap energy.

The renovation has enhanced power generation, improved infrastructure efficiency, and will raise the province’s revenue.

According to the information, when the overhaul was completed, PEDO’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Naeem Khan, inaugurated the third 27 MW unit. The overhaul was completed in 50 days by a team of experts and engineers from the PEDO.

CEO Naeem Khan hailed the team’s outstanding achievement and noted that the refurbishment is the first of its sort since the plant’s inception in 2008.

It is worth emphasising that the Malakand III power plant is a provincial asset that generates more than Rs. 2 billion each year.
