While the company did not specify the reason for the increase, local currency depreciation is most likely to blame. The following new prices are effective immediately:

Kia’s momentum has recently slowed due to economic issues and operational challenges in Pakistan.

In the same discussion, the company was mentioned alongside Pakistan’s largest carmakers in terms of market share up until mid-2022. However, it is now only selling a few hundred cars per year.

According to a recent report from autojournal.pk, the company sold 747 locally assembled cars in March, representing a 7% month over month (MoM) increase in sales.

Picanto and Stonic sales increased in March, while Kia’s best-seller, Sportage, saw a decrease. Despite this, the Sportage is by far best-selling vehicle.

With a significant drop in sales, the Sorento remained the company’s worst-selling vehicle. The latest price increase is likely to aggravate the situation.
