Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated People’s Bus Service‘s Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS) in Karachi on Saturday. The system will collect bus fares using smart cards rather than cash payments.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Murad Ali Shah stated that the province’s transport system has been digitalized, and that the Sindh government’s top priority is to provide as many facilities as possible to the people through modern technology.

The chief guest, Murad Ali Shah, was briefed on the upcoming Sindh intra-district bus service, which will begin in 2021.

Initially, the buses will run on two routes: Route 1 and Route 9. The CM was briefed that the first route will be from Model Colony Malir to Tower, while Route-9 will be from Gulshan Hadeed to Tower.

Other bus routes will be decided within 90 days.

Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister stated that the Red Line BRT project was stalled during the caretaker government’s tenure. He said the government was also working on the Orange and Yellow lines.
