In honor of Atlas Honda‘s 60th year of business in Pakistan, Noriaki Abe, Chief Officer of Motorcycle and Power Products at Atlas Honda, unveiled the company’s first electric vehicle (EV) motorcycle BENLY-e.

Shinji Aoyama, Executive Vice President and COO of Honda Motor Company, and Toshio Kuwahara, President and CEO of Asian Honda Motor Company, present at the unveiling ceremony held at Atlas Sheikhupura factory.
In order to make sure the automobile manufacturer provides the best for society and customers, Abe said that the BENLY-e will go through test marketing and that future products will develope based on market feedback.
He mentioned that many people in Pakistan now consider our products to be a necessary part of their everyday lives.
Successful Joint Venture Since 1963
The joint venture between Atlas Group and Honda Motor Company has led the industry in the production of motorcycles and auto parts since 1963.
Aoyama stated that automobile manufacturer is well-positioned for the future and that the mobility industry is undergoing a rapid transformation.
Pakistan is an important market, Kuwahara noted, and the company is dedicated to bringing in products that will appeal to Pakistani consumers.

Saquib H. Shirazi, the president and CEO of Atlas Honda, emphasized the company’s accomplishments, which include the expansion of its product lineup and up to 95% localization.
“The company has developed the largest network of local auto parts manufacturers and dealers. With more than 10,000 touchpoints, the company has created direct employment opportunities for more than 150,000 people,” he said.
Anticipated Cost
Muhammad Sabir Sheikh, Chief Coordinator of Electric Two Wheelers Manufacturing Group-Pakistan, commented on the launch of BENLY-e EV bike, saying it was a good move to help the country’s EV bike sector.
Moreover, he observed that the China-based industry expands quickly and predicted a change in the market by 2024.
Given Japanese automobile manufacturer dominance in the two-wheeler market, he highlighted the potential benefits of the BENLY-e EV bike while acknowledging its anticipated high cost.
“A good Chinese electric bike presently priced over Rs. 300,000. I am expecting Honda’s electric bike priced around Rs. 900,000, especially the one that has displayed in Sheikhupura,” he said.
