A fast SUV hit and killed two people, a woman and a man, near Karsaz on Monday evening. Three others got hurt. The accident happened when a woman drove a Toyota Prado recklessly. She hit a motorcycle while turning from Tipu Sultan Road towards the service road of Muslim League House. The car then hit two more motorcycles and crashed into a parked car before overturning.
The five injured people were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Sadly, two of them died. The driver, a woman named Natasha, got arrested, and her car was taken by the police.
The accident happened close to the Pakistan Maritime Museum. The collision killed a young woman and an elderly man. The victims and injured were taken to JPMC for treatment. The police identified the deceased as Aamna Arif, 26, and Imran Arif, 60. One of the injured is in critical condition.
Natasha, who lives in KDA Scheme-I, said she lost control of her car while driving on the service road near Karsaz. Natasha’s husband came to the police station after hearing about the accident.
Police File Charges Against Natasha in Fatal Accident Case
The police filed a case against Natasha at Bahadurabad police station. The case includes charges of negligent driving and causing death by negligence. The case was filed by Imtiaz Arif, the brother of the deceased man, Imran Arif. He said he got a call about his brother’s accident and found his brother and niece dead when he arrived at JPMC. Imtiaz blamed Natasha for driving recklessly and causing the crash. Another motorcyclist, Abdul Salam, was also hurt in the accident.
Police collected Natasha’s blood and urine samples for a medical test. They are checking her medical history. Her husband said Natasha is on medication for stress. The police are looking into different angles of the accident and are trying to get CCTV footage for more details.
The bodies of the father and daughter have been taken to the Edhi mortuary. Their funeral prayers are set to be held after Asr prayers.
Police Confirms Natasha is Businessman’s Wife
Bahadurabad police station SHO Muhammad Naeem confirmed that the driver, Natasha, is married to well-known businessman Danish Iqbal, who is currently facing legal issues. The police also mentioned that Natasha is reportedly experiencing mental distress.
