Dr. Kazim Niaz, Pakistan’s Secretary for Economic Affairs, and Alfred Grannas, Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan, attended the signing ceremony for €45 million agreements on Technical Development Cooperation to launch new bilateral cooperation projects.
These new agreements are the result of a long and trusting relationship between the two countries.
The newly commissioned projects are aligned with the German development cooperation thematic areas of climate and energy, just transition; sustainable economic development, training and employment; and health, social protection, and population policy.
All ongoing and new projects work in tandem with a holistic approach, fostering synergies for well-rounded solutions to effectively address complex and global challenges such as climate change and the inclusion of vulnerable groups such as women and youth.
Both parties emphasised the enormous efforts made in recent decades. The impact of German development cooperation demonstrates the potential for successful cooperation in underserved development sectors.
Ambassador Alfred Grannas stated, “The German-Pakistani development cooperation has left its imprint on the country. With today’s agreement, we hope to continue our shared journey to a more sustainable future in Pakistan.
Svenja Schulzeour, German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, recently stated that international cooperation benefits more than just others. Above all, it benefits us, because global problems can only be solved collaboratively.
Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz said, “We deeply appreciate the strong support that we have received on technical development cooperation. It would contribute to the Socio-economic development of the country”.
