Ethiopian envoy for boosting economic ties with Pakistan

Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, stated on Wednesday that there are numerous opportunities for economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia from which both countries can benefit.

According to the Ambassador, Pakistan and Ethiopia are located in a very important geographical location, which has a very important place in terms of trade and economy.

Ambassador Jemal Beker made the remarks while meeting with Chairman Pakistan Africa Friendship Association Zafar Bakhtawari and CEO of D.Watson Group Waqar Bakhtawari at the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad.

He stated that Ethiopia is the second largest country in Africa in terms of population and economy, and that through trade, Pakistan can be economically and commercially connected with African countries.

According to the ambassador, air connectivity is critical for bilateral trade relations, and direct flights between Ethiopia and Pakistan’s commercial capital, Karachi, will begin soon.

He stated that both sides’ work in this regard is nearing completion, and that direct air flight will strengthen mutual relations between the two countries, promoting mutual economic and trade relations.

He stated that after Karachi, a series of direct flights to Ethiopia will begin with Lahore.

Ambassador Jemal Beker stated that Ethiopia’s national airline is one of the leading airlines in Africa, with 110 air destinations, which aids in promoting connections in the world’s top economies.

During the discussion, Pakistan Africa Friendship Association chairman Zafar Bakhtawari stated that direct air links between major cities in Pakistan and Ethiopia will boost trade and tourism between the two countries.
